MANILA, April 25 – Port developer and Philippine-based conglomerate International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) announced that it has activated its own corporate social responsibility (CSR) unit, the ICTSI Foundation, Inc.

The foundation recently opened its office located at the second floor of the ICTSI Administration Building at the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) in the Port of Manila last April 23.

It is tasked to consolidate, manage and monitor the ICTSI's increasing CSR activities initially in its home country, the Philippines, and soon, across the group’s global organization.

“The main advocacy of the foundation is to optimize the growth potentials of the youth by providing support mechanisms in the areas of sports, education and social welfare, primarily in communities and countries where ICTSI operates,” ICTSI chairman and president Enrique K. Razon Jr. said.

Contributing to the initial and regular fund requirements of the foundation are ICTSI and its local subsidiaries, namely Subic Bay International Terminal Corp. (SBITC), Bauan International Port, Inc. (BIPI), Davao Integrated Port Services and Stevedoring Corp. (DIPSSCOR) and South Cotabato Integrated Port Services, Inc. (SCIPSI).

These companies’ CSR initiatives on education, health, sports and community welfare assistance implemented over the years will eventually be migrated to the foundation. (PNA)
