MANILA, April 16 –An electronic gadget store lost P1 million worth of mobile phones and accessories to its employee in separate incidents during the past four months in Manila, police authorities said on Friday.

Police said Jun Oliver Edesan, 29, area manager of the Cyber Widget Technologies Inc. complained one Larry Enriquez, of San Andres Bukid, Manila, of stealing the store's electronic gadgets.

The series of theft allegedly happened from Dec. 12 last year to April 5 this year at Edesan's store on Maceda Street, Sampaloc, Manila.

In his complaint, Edesan said the company’s main branch in Sampaloc, Manila, lost mobile phones and phone accessories worth P1,195,595.

Chief Insp. Edgardo Carpio, chief of the MPD-Theft and Robbery Section, said Enriquez was currently in the custody of the Mandaluyong City police after he was arrested on a similar charge.

Carpio said Enriquez got the gadgets from the main branch purportedly for delivery to different outlets.

But items were not delivered to intended destination.

He said that it would be up to the court to consolidate the cases in Mandaluyong City and Manila against the suspect.

The suspect faces qualified theft charges before the city Manila prosecutor’s office. (PNA) RMA/JES
