LEGAZPI CITY, April 14 – Albay Governor Joey Salceda, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s top economic adviser, said today he was moving out from the Lakas-Kampi-CMD party to support Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, the Liberal Party standard bearer.
The announcement was to be made on Saturday but news have overtaken his plan. “I wanted and asked the LP for sufficient time to make proper notices to Lakas leadership specially to the President,” he said.
Salceda who is currently abroad for medical check up, said in an emailed statement, “I would like to thank them especially President Arroyo for the unique opportunity to work with them in the field of public service, economic policy and social re-engineering.”
He said his decision to move in to the LP was because of the "vigorous efforts of the Ateneo de Manila University Batch 81 to help our batchmate in his crusade." (PNA)
