MANILA, April 10 –A Southern Police District (SPD) policeman allegedly shot and wounded on Saturday morning his landlord following a heated argument concerning his non-payment of house rentals for six months in Pandacan, Manila, on Saturday morning.

Police Officer 1 James Patulot was tagged for shooting his landlord Roland Febiar, 37.

Febiar is now confined at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) for gunshot wounds in the body.

Chief Inspector Marcelo Reyes, chief of the Manila Police District-General Assignment Section (MPD-GAS), said the incident occurred in front of the suspect's rented house at around 4:20 a.m. Saturday.

Reyes said victim approached Patulot to request him to pay for the rent. Then he asked him to vacate the apartment for their alleged non-payment of rent for almost six months.

But the talk triggered a heated argument. The policeman drew his service firearm and shot Febiar several times on the different parts of the body.

Patulot immediately fled on board his motorcycle after the shooting incident.

The victim's brother rushed Fabiar to the hospital after sustaining bullet wounds.

The MPD-GAS chief said Febiar was still recuperating inside the hospital.

Reyes said police would file frustrated murder charges against Patulot. (PNA) RMA/JES
