MANILA, March 23 – The Supreme Court (SC) in an en banc session on Tuesday finally dismissed the motion for reconsideration filed in connection with the electoral case in the governorship of the Camarines Norte province between Jesus Typoco and Edgardo Tallado.

Typoco earlier filed the motion for reconsideration before the SC seeking a reversal of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) ruling that declared Tallado as the duly-elected governor of Camarines Norte.

SC Spokesman and Court Administrator lawyer Jose Midas Marquez said that by a unanimous vote, the SC denied with finality the motion for reconsideration filed by Typoco.

"Therefore, Governor Tallado is the duly-elected governor of Camarines Norte," Marquez said.

Earlier, the Comelec declared Tallado as the duly-elected governor of the province of Camarines Norte after it granted the petition filed by Tallado which questioned the victory of Typoco as the duly-elected governor of Camarines Norte in the May 2007 elections. (PNA)
