Four hi-way robbers nabbed by Cagayan de Oro PNP

MANILA, March 18 – Four hold-up men were arrested by police authorities after pulling off a heist at a passenger bus in Cagayan de Oro City Wednesday night, a ranking police official said.

Chief Supt. Danilo Empedrad, director of the Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10), identified the arrested suspects as Mario Pilit, 32, Vicente Basobas, 32, Ricky Lario, 36, and Allan Rafuela, 37.

According to Empedrad, the four were captured after divesting valuables from passengers of Rural Transit bus along the vicinities of Barangay Puerto in Cagayan de Oro City at around 9:20 p.m.

Empedrad said Rafuela was slightly wounded after initially engaging responding police authorities. The suspect was subsequently brought to a local hospital.

Recovered from the suspects were two homemade caliber .38 revolvers, two grenades, and valuable items believed to be divested from the passengers, including five cellular phones, three bags, four wallets, five identification cards, P7,500 cash.

Empedrad said proper charges have been filed against the four suspects. (PNA) FFC/MM
