MILF bomber nabbed in Sultan Kudarat

MANILA, March 9 –Government authorities in Sultan Kudarat have captured a rogue member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), who was suspected to be involved in at least two bomb attacks in southern Philippines.

Police Regional Office-12 (PRO-12) director Chief Supt. Josefino Cataluna said on Tuesday that Alladin Dumpao, who has standing arrest warrant issued by a Sultan Kudarat court, was arrested in Barangay Bual in Isulan town last March 6.

The delay on the announcement of Dumpao’s arrest was prompted by thorough background checking on the suspect.

Cataluna said Dumpao was a known member of the MILF’s 105th Base Command and was implicated in the bombing incidents like the attack in Sukelco compound and of Mercury store, both located in Isulan; the blast on Husky Bus Liner; Kakal Bridge explosion in Esperanza town and in the attack in Pikit, North Cotabato.

Cataluna said Dumpao yielded components for making improvised explosive device, composed of one white plastic box, one cellphone wrapped with packaging tape with wiring, one taped transparent plastic box with wiring, an Eveready battery, one roll of wire, one plastic assorted light emitting diode, a hand grenade, one piece of unknown powder, one piece MILF uniform, cap and boots.

He said Dumpao had been inquested for the charges slapped on him. (PNA) RMA/MM
