MANILA, March 6 — A four-year-old boy was found dead in a muddy creek in Tondo, Manila on Saturday morning, police said.

Police Officer 1 Gerry Amores of the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section said Cholo de Jesus was believed dead for several hours when his body was found at the Estero de San Lazaro, Old Antipolo St., Tondo, at 7 a.m.

The victim’s uncle, Danilo De Jesus, 19, tricycle driver, told authorities the boy was last seen alive at 2 a.m. before they slept inside the tricycle he was driving.

He said he was told by Domingo Lavenia, helper of an auto parts merchandise in the area, that his nephew was found floating in a creek.

It was theorized that the boy could have fell accidentally into the creek while asleep as the tricycle was parked beside the creek.

It was learned that the boy was brought by his grandmother to Danilo on Friday from Tarlac, Tarlac after his parents separated.

Although no external injury was found on the boy's body, police are still conducting investigation to know if there was foul play in the incident. (PNA) scs/JES
