PBA Press Corps Sports Writing Contest Sunday

MANILA, Feb. 9 — The Phoenix Fuel-PBA Press Corps Sports Writing Contest proceeds on February 14, Sunday, 2 p.m., before Game 3 of the KFC-PBA Philippine Cup semifinals at the Araneta Coliseum.
Widely-read sports columnist Recah Trinidad of the Daily Inquirer and Quinito Henson of the Philippine Star will be on hand to give 30-minute lectures on the fundamentals of sports writing as well as feature and column writing.
Backed by the PBA Commissioner’s Office, Araneta Center, Solar Sports and the PBA Press Photographers, the contest, according to project co-chairmen Joel Orellana and Dennis Principe, has drawn the following so far: Christian Jerome Lagunzad (TUP), Karlitos Brian Decena (UPD), Benjay Espelimbergo (PUP), Nestor Domingo Jr. (CEU), Martin Tamudlong (PUP), Aiza dela Cruz (FEU), Kim Byron Purificacion (STI), Reijosiah Echano (JRU), Mark Pere Madrona (UPD), Josevee Sapphire Dagdag (Fatima), Manuel Cinco (PUP), John Daniel Salonga (La Salle), Cris John Roby Akol (La Salle), Jewel Sumayo (La Salle), Immanuel Canicosa (La Salle), Jeric R. Mallari (PUP), Rafael Zapanta (PUP), Arnie N. Dela Mata (PUP), Karen Tiu (PSID), Menard V. Salvador (PUP), Marlon A. Epiz (PUP), Demetrio C. A 30-minute update on the developments in the Philippine Cup will also be provided by Malaya assistant sports editor Noli Cortez.
Participants are advised to bring with them valid 2009-2010 school IDs to be allowed into the Big Dome. A strict No-ID-No-entry policy will be imposed.
