Jordan to host Islamic finance, investment forum in March

AMMAN, Feb. 9 — Jordan will hold the first Islamic Finance and Investment Forum of the Middle East region in March, the organizers said on Tuesday.

The two-day forum slated for March 2 will examine current trends and crucial issues in the fields of finance and investment in the Islamic countries, particularly in the Middle East region, said a statement issued by the organizers obtained by Xinhua.

The forum will be held in the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center, near the Dead Sea, according to the statement.

Key players in the finance field and other parties and individuals concerned with the industry from various countries in the Middle East will take part in the event.

According to the agenda, topics to be covered in the forum will include the role, functions and responsibilities of central banks in banking, funds and alternative investment sectors in the Islamic countries. (PNA/Xinhua) vcs/utb
