(Metro News) Cemented precast kills laborer in Manila

MANILA, Jan. 28 –A 51-year-old laborer died after he was hit by a cemented precast while working in high-rise building being built in Ermita, Manila, on Thursday morning.

Police identified the victim as Andres Paragata Jr., married, of Sapang Palay, San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan. He died while being treated at Philippine General Hospital due to severe head injury.

Probers said the victim was working on the 9th floor of the Victoria de Manila building located at 1655 Taft Ave., Manila when the incident occurred at 11:45 a.m.

Reports said the victim along with his colleagues Jolanie Entrina and Nelson Paragata were connecting a cemented precast when it slipped and directly hit the victim’s head. (PNA) RMA/JES
