ILOILO CITY, Jan. 25 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has extended until end of June this year its discounted payment for those who would like to register for a business name.
Trade and Industry regional director Dominic Abad said the payment for new business name registration was slashed by half from P300.
It was supposed to end December last year but Secretary Peter Favila ordered for its extension until end of this year’s first semester, said Abad.
“This is the second extension. Last year, it was supposed to be until June but it was extended up to December,” he said.
Abad cited the reduction in rates could be one of the factors for the increase in the number of registrations last year.
Data provided by the DTI showed around 11,604 business names were registered in Western Visayas last year. (PNA)
