(Metro News) Paranaque extends deadline for business tax payments

January 24, 2010 1:38 pm

MANILA, Jan. 24 – The city government of Parañaque has extended the deadline of processing and payments of business taxes to Jan. 31.

The extension was made possible with the approval of City Ordinance No. 111 series of 2010 by the Paranaque City Council giving the business firms ample time to process necessary documents and pay the assessed amount which will lead to an organized renewal of their business permits.

“Knowing the difficulties of trying to secure the necessary requirements as well as facing pressure brought by the current economic situation, we want to give them more time to accomplish this,” Mayor Florencio M. Bernabe Jr. said.

The mayor added his administration is deeply grateful for the support given by business establishments to the city government’s projects and programs.

He also reminded taxpayers to deal only with city employees when paying their dues to ensure they pay the right amount and avoid being exploited.

The deadline for the processing/billing of business permit renewal will be on Jan. 26, while the last day for payment without penalties and surcharges will be on Jan. 31.

The Business Permits and Licensing Office, Treasurer’s Office, EDP and support departments will be open on Saturdays falling within the grace period, particularly Jan. 23 and 30, and on the last Sunday of the month, Jan. 31.(PNA)
