MANILA, January 20 — Bangon Pilipinas standard-bearer Bro. Eddie Villanueva on Wednesday welcomed the decision of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to allow former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada (Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino) to run in the May 10, 2010 elections.

He noted that the decision has given the electorate many choices on who’s to vote in the coming polls.

“It is important to have a wider choice for Filipinos…It is like shopping in a department store with not only two brands, but several brands,” Villanueva said.

But, he added what is important is for every Filipino to make sure that there would be clean and honest elections.

Villanueva urged Filipinos to vote with conscience and not based on election manipulation and mind conditioning and political tactics since it would prevent the public to attain good government.

Aside from Villanueva and Estrada, the other presidential candidates are: Senator Benigno “Noynoy’ Aquino (Liberal Party), Senator Manuel “Manny’ Villar (Nacionalista Party), Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro (Lakas-Kampi-CMD), Senator Richard “Dick” Gordon, (Bagumbayan), Senator Jamby Madridal (Independent), environmentalist Nicanor Perlas (Independent), John Carlos de los Reyes (Ang Kapatiran Party) and Vetallano Acosta (Kilusan Bagong Lipunan).
