MANILA, Jan. 17 — In line with his vision of making the Filipinos the standard for excellence in Southeast Asia, Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. is urging today’s youths to vote only for the candidates who are willing to give it all to lead the country back to greatness.

“You (youths) should not settle for second best, as it is up to your generation to make this country great again,” Teodoro told students during a forum at the La Consolacion College Mendiola (LCCM) in Manila.

He also told more than 1,000 students, who gathered in the LCCM auditorium, that the country’s voting population, particularly the youths, should shed the mentality of refusing to vote for highly capable and intelligent candidates on the reasoning that they will just pillage the government coffers.

“You must not make the mistake of equating intelligence with deviousness. Intelligence in government service, in the purest sense of word, means willingness to do it all to ensure that the government will do everything it can for its constituents,” he added.

But this does not mean that LCCM students and faculty should automatically vote for him.

“You have four months to make your choice. Four months to study and observe the platform of governance of other candidates. Vote for the one whom you think will work hard to something to improve the country,” the 1989 Philippine Bar Examination topnotcher emphasized.

Teodoro added if the students think that he is qualified in these aspects, he is more thankful to accept the trust placed upon him by the youth.

“If you will vote for my qualifications, then I am more than thankful to accept your trust,” he said. (PNA)
