PGMA visits Albay evacuees

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay -– President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo arrives at the Gogon Elementary School in Legazpi City where she personally distributed food packs to Mayon evacuees housed at the school compound Wednesday (Dec. 23, 2009). During her visit, the President also conveyed her assurance of assistance to the province of Albay as Mayon Volcano remains at alert Level 4 and continues oozing lava and spewing ash. At least 743 families or 3,643 individuals from Barangays Bonga and Buyuan, both within the declared eight-kilometer extended danger zone, are housed at the Gogon Elementary School.
