President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo receives from 34-year-old Elizabeth Santiago, an Aeta teacher at the Sapang Uwak Elementary School in Porac, Pampanga, the manifesto of support and petition of her “cabalens” (provincemates) urging her to run as congresswoman in the second district of Pampanga. More than 500 residents representing various sectors in the six towns in the second district of the province trooped to the Kalayaan Hall in Malacanang on Friday morning (Nov. 27, 2009) to urge the President to file her candidacy with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) before the December 1 deadline.
