MANILA, Nov. 26 — Malacanang expects to receive anytime on Thursday the initial investigation report and recommendation of the Department of Justice (DOJ), including that of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), on the Maguindanao massacre, according to Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita.

In a radio interview, Ermita said President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will meet with Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera to receive the DOJ-NBI report, observation and recommendation regarding the gruesome killing of over 50 people, including some media practitioners, in that southern Philippines province last Monday.

Ermita said an immediate resolution regarding the Maguindanao massacre could be reached after the submission of reports of the different government agencies which conducted investigation and gathered physical and testimonial evidence to properly charge the perpetrators of the barbaric incident.

Stressing that the government fully understands the feelings of the families of the massacre victims, the Executive Secretary said the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that the long hand of the law will run after the perpetrators of the gruesome killings and justice is served on the victims.
