ZAMBOANGA CITY, Nov. 20 — The regional office of the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) is set to conduct a two-day jobs bridging event in this southern port city.
TESDA-9 information office Joy Wee said the two-day event is scheduled to be held on December 3-4 at the Summit Center in Barangay Tetuan, east of this city.
Wee said the event is a project in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office, Zamboanga City Association of Private Technical-Vocational Institutions, and the local government of Zamboanga City.
It brings together in one venue all the TESDA scholar-graduates, walk-in applicants, the accredited recruitment agencies and companies or corporations with existing job vacancies, Wee said.
She said a total of 50 recruitment agencies and companies are participating in the two-day jobs bridging event.
She said one significant feature of the event is the on-line job referral services using TESDA Gold Cards.
A Gold Card will store applicants resume using the barcode number on the card.
Wee said the resume will be stored in the E-TESDA Portal using the jobs matching system and will be made available to all the employers in the country and the whole world.
Wee said the applicant may also update his or her resume on-line.
Wee advised all interested applicants to get information sheets at the different technical-vocational institutions in this southern port city, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and at the TESDA Zamboanga City Field Office in Barangay San Roque, this city. (PNA)
