DoJ Secretary lauds NBI for significant accomplishments on its 73rd anniversary

MANILA, Nov. 13 — Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Agnes Devanadera lauded the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday for the agency's significant accomplishments for the year, among them the recent neutralization of the Alvin Flores armed robbery group, discovery of clandestine shabu laboratory in Tondo, Manila, and the Boratong illegal drug case.

During the celebration of the bureau's 73rd anniversary at its main office in Manila, Devanadera praised NBI Director Nestor Mantaring for his leadership and some evident changes and physical structures in the NBI that serve to enhance the morale of its personnel.

The NBI is one of the agencies under the DOJ.

The DOJ chief, who was the guest of honor and speaker, also congratulated the men and women of the NBI who figured well in their jobs.

In the Office of Deputy Director for Special Investigation Services (ODDSIS), Agent Maricarl P. Caratao, who is assigned to Violence Against Women and Children Division (VAWCD), was named agent achiever.

The other awardees in the ODDSIS were Special Investigator IV Marvin Barnard M. Villardo, of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Division (NAID), for SI achiever; VAWCD as best organizational unit; and Pamela C. Paredes, of the VAWCD as best employee.

In the Office of Deputy Director for Intelligence Services (ODDIS), the awardees were Agent Vine A. Perocho, of the Criminal Intelligence Division (CRID), as agent achiever; SI III Robert Joey M. Ajero, of the Intelligence Special Operations Division (ISOD), for SI achiever; Field Operations Division (FOD) under Head Agent Rolando Argabioso as best organizational unit; and Jason A. Domingo, of the Research and Analysis Division (RAD), as best employee.

In the Deputy Director for Regional Operations Services (DDROS), the awardees were Supervising Agent Maria Veronica Q. Pontillas, of the Northeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NEMRO), as agent achiever; SI III Gerardo Tamayo, of the NEMRO, as SI achiever; and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) under Regional Director Ricardo S. Pangan Jr., as best organizational unit.

In the DDROS-District, the awardees were Supervising Agent Gerald V. Geralde of Dagupan District Office (DADO) as agent achiever; SI III Gil S. Mendoza of Samar District Office (SAMDO) as SI achiever; Dumaguete District Office (DUMDO) under Head Agent Dominador D. Cimafranca, as best organizational unit.

In the Office of the DDROS, the awardees were Merlinda C. Martinez, of the Dagupan District Office (DADO), as best employee; the National Capital Region (NCR) under Regional Director Edward A. Villarta, as outstanding case for Probe on The Death of Cristina “Trina” Etong.

The other best employee awardees were Flordeliza Penaloza, of the Internal Affairs Division (IAD); Rodolfo Bruel, of the Powerhouse Section; Nenita M. Munoz, of Collection Section; and Nora V. Garcia of Medico Legal Division (MLD). (PNA) scs/JES
