PGMA to inaugurate PNP facility in Taguig

MANILA, Nov. 10 — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will inaugurate on Thursday (Nov. 12), the Regional Tactical Operations and Intelligence Center (RTOIC) at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig.

Director Roberto Rosales of the National Capital Region Office, Philippine National Police will assist the President cut the ceremonial ribbon and unveil the RTOIC marker.

President Arroyo will also inspect the search and rescue (SAR) equipment, which include rubber boats donated by foreign organizations and 11 NCRPO-designed wooden boats that were built right in Bicutan.

Patterned after the state-of-the-art ROIC emergency management facility in New Jersey, the RTOIC will enable the PNP to respond immediately to emergencies and crisis situations.

Through RTOIC, the police can investigate phone-in tips and 117 referrals, monitor close circuit TV (CCTV) feeds, radio and TV broadcasts, receive and transmit messages via telephone, fax, emails and SMS. (PNA)
