BORACAY Island, Malay, Aklan, Nov. 5 — The Aklan Provincial Police Office (APPO) is now preparing tight security plan for the arrival here of Miss Earth Pageant candidates from different parts of the world in preparation for the competition's coronation on November 22 at the Boracay Ecoville Resort and Convention Center.
PO2 Nida Gregas, APPO deputy information officer, said that order to ensure and secure the security of Miss Earth beauties came from the headquarters.
Reports from Metro Manila said that foreign delegations have already started arriving in the country to prepare for the pageant's finals.
"We will be ensuring their safety once they set foot at the Kalibo International Airport to Boracay and until the pageant ends," said Gregas.
The Miss Earth Foundation expects about 87 countries to participate in the pageant.
After the pageant night, some delegates and their families are expected to prolong their stay in here for vacation.
The Philippines is represented in the pageant by Sandra Seifert. (PNA)
