DSWD Davao turns over a total of 116 houses built in one week in Comval

NABUNTURAN, Compostela Valley, Nov. 3 – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently turned over 116 colorful houses during the culmination program of the 3rd Bayani (hero) Challenge in Barangay Kinuban, Maco, here.

DSWD regional director Ester Acebedo-Versoza facilitated the turn-over of the village key to the Gawad Kalinga-Neighborhood Assistance Shelter Association in the area.

Versoza said the DSWD had extended to the provincial government a P7.5 million budget for the undertaking through its Core Shelter Assistance Program (CSAP).

More than a hundred of volunteer groups from the different sectors of the province and other cities and provinces came together for the week-long Bayani Build which started last October 23.

Governor Arturo Uy extended his thanks to all volunteer groups, bayani builders, local and national agencies, private companies, business entities, non-government organizations, religious institutions and all sectors that participated.

In his message, Bishop Wilfredo Manlapaz said God’s blessings on the province are visible in the Bayani Challenge. (PNA) FFC/CVM/lvp
