2 Zambo barangays receive P10-M infrastructure projects

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Oct. 23 — The local government officials turned over infrastructure projects worth at least P10 million to barangays Mangusu and Buenavista here Thursday.

The projects turned over in Buenavista consisted of two farm-to-market road projects worth almost P3 million and in Mangusu's projects which amounted to over P6 million included barangay hall worth P4.1 million, fence with gate at the Mangusu Elementary School P682,356.64; two farm-to-market road projects and concreting of road for barangay Mangusu costing over P1 million.

Mangusu Barangay chairman Bobby Pagsubiron and Buenavista barangay chairman Haber Mating were one in expressing their gratitude to the city government and Mayor Celso Lobregat for initiating the projects and for continuously implementing projects for the barangays.

Habal-habal drivers and farmer-residents of both barangays have also expressed elation especially for the farm-to-market road projects as these would facilitate transport of products and passengers.

Habal-habal, a motorcycle for hire, serves as the mode of transportation to residents living in far-flung barangays where there is shortage of passenger jeep or are not accessible to four-wheel vehicles.

Mayor Lobregat said he will initiate more projects for all the 98 barangays in this southern port city. (PNA)
