MANILA, October 21 — International singer-songwriter and record producer Basia will be on stage on Thursday night in Taguig City for a concert that will benefit non- profit organizations and the victims of typhoon "Ondoy" in the city.

Dubbed “Blood, Sweat and Tears," the concert will be held at the Taguig City University Auditorium, at the back of the Taguig Justice Hall along Gen. Santos Ave. in Brgy. Upper Bicutan , at 7:00pm.

Basia is the artist behind worldwide hit singles “Time and Tide” and “Promises”.

Taguig Mayor Freddie R. Tiñga is set to present to Basia, a key to the city in welcoming her to Taguig and in recognition of this charitable act that will truly benefit a lot of people.

“We are truly proud and thankful that Basia agreed to perform in Taguig for this noble cause. She will not only showcase her talent, but will also share her heart for those in need,” Tiñga said.

The concert will be for free, but in lieu of entrance fees, attendees will be required to donate or pledge a donation in the form of “blood,” “sweat,” or “tears.”

For free “blood” admission, attendees can choose to donate a bag of blood at the venue, or pledge for blood donation to be drawn from the donor in the next two weeks. The donation will be given to the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) through PNRC-Taguig Chapter Chair Kaye C. Tiñga.

Attendees can also choose to donate “sweat,” where they will be required to contribute “sweat equity” for a minimum of 1,000 hours of voluntary house-building activities in Taguig’s Family Townhomes housing project with Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity.

For “tears,” they will have to bring relief goods to figuratively wipe away the tears from the eyes of the victims of the recent typhoons which hit the country. (PNA)
