A(H1N1) flu death toll raises to 45 in Spain

MADRID, Oct. 16 — The A(H1N1) influenza death toll rose to 45 in Spain after the Health and Social Policy Ministry confirmed two more deaths on Thursday.

According to an epidemic report of the ministry, it is estimated that over 42,000 infections of A(H1N1) flu had been registered from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, increased by 2,000 cases compared with the previous report.

Meanwhile, the estimated rate of primary clinic assistance for flu was 98.65 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The ministry also said that most of the patients showed light symptoms and had a favorable response to conventional medical treatments. (PNA/Xinhua)
