MANILA, Oct.13 — The Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) has ensured the full operation of all its branches particularly in areas that were heavily battered by typhoon “Ondoy” such as Marikina, Cainta and Rizal.

With the public still recovering from the devastation wrought by "Ondoy", Metrobank had fast-tracked the restoration of its branches to aid residents in their financial requirements. All banking transactions may now be accommodated by all Metrobank branches.

“We are here to lessen their burden by being readily available to cater to all of their banking needs. 100 percent of Metrobank branches in the affected areas are now open to serve the public,” the bank said in a statement.

Metrobank was recently cited in the 2009 Corporate Governance Asia Annual Recognition Awards in Hong Kong.

The award was given by Corporate Governance Asia in recognition of the Bank’s continuing commitment to the development of corporate governance in the region.(PNA)
