MANILA, Oct. 3 — In response to the needs of the families displaced by typhoon Ondoy, Vice President and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) chairman Noli 'Kabayan' De Castro is offering relocation sites for the victims.

Hundreds of Social Security System members troop to the SSS main office in Diliman, Quezon City Friday (Oct. 2, 2009) to file applications for salary loan following the onslaught of storm “Ondoy” in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon last weekend. In response to the disaster, SSS has allowed early renewal of salary loans and reduced the interest rate on house repair loans, aside from donating P100 million to support relief efforts of both government and private sectors. MANILA, October 2 – Some 33,230 persons residing in the areas located in the path of Typhoon Pepeng have already been evacuated by the government as of 6 p.m. Friday, National Disaster Coordinating Council spokesman Lt. Col Ernesto Torres said.
