PORAC, Pampanga, Sept. 2 — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will visit this province tomorrow (Thursday) to inspect two road projects that have recently undergone varying degrees of rehabilitation aimed at improving their capacity to accept the growing number of commuter traffic here.

The President will first visit Barangay Sta. Cruz of this municipality to inspect the concrete reblocking works done on the 150-linear meter road.

She will be welcomed by Porac Mayor Rogelio Santos and Pampanga 2nd District Representative and Presidential son Juan Miguel Arroyo.

Rehabilitated at a cost of P1.526 million, the concrete reblocking project was funded from the President’s Social Fund and will benefit 6,000 residents.

The President will then proceed to the Barangay Manibaug-Paralaya section of the Angeles-Porac-Floridablanca-Dinalupihan road project to inspect rehabilitation works recently completed.

Improved at a cost of P19 million, the 674-linear meter Manibaug-Paralaya portion of the Angeles-Porac-Floridablanca-Dinalupihan road project was started last March 23 and completed three months later or on June 29.

The President will be joined by Department of Public Works and Highways Region III Director Alfredo Tolentino and Barangay Captain Benjamin Pena in the ceremonial drive through.

Residents of said barangay have praised the rehabilitation works on this portion of the Angeles-Porac-Floridablanca-Dinalupihan road project, saying it has rid the area of floods and made the area passable even during the rainy season. (PNA)
