BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, August 27 -– Media practitioners and nutrition officials in the province have formed a tri-media task force to locally promote the programs, projects and activities on the national nutrition program.

Gloria Panganiban, public relations officer of the Public Affairs and Information Assistance Division (PAIAD) under the office of Governor Luisa Cuaresma, said the task force was formed during the recently held two-day nutrition workshop in Baguio City.

It was attended by private media practitioners and government information officers in Cagayan Valley.

Dubbed as Tribu Biskayano Media Task Force (TBMTF), the provincial nutrition media core group has drafted a media advocacy campaign proposal to the Regional Media Core Group(RMCG) to promote good nutrition in the 275 barangays of Nueva Vizcaya.

“Our media group in the province was also praised for their active involvement and performance in promoting and disseminating government programs and projects,” Panganiban said.

She said that aside from utilizing print media spaces for the promotion of nutrition programs through news releases, photos, columns, editorials and trivias, a local drama soap opera in Ilocano version will be aired through the radio station DWRV, talk shows on cable TV stations and a jingle to be played over DWRV AM and FM stations, schools and local government units during the conduct of nutrition-related activities.

The advocacy, Panganiban said, is designed to promote and increase the awareness, knowledge, attitudes and practices of families so that they could prepare adequate, nutritious and safe food. (PNA) LAP/jca/SCD/BME/mba
