New airline flies in and out of Batanes Island provinces

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Aug. 25 - A new airline is now operating in and out of the Batanes Island provinces.
The SkyPadala Air Corp., operated by World City College Aviation Company owned by Municipal Mayors' League president Ramon Guico, was inaugurated recently in Basco, Batanes.
Department of Tourism Regional (DOT) Director Blessida Diwa said the new airlines would make the travel rates more competitive to travelers.
SkyPadala planes, which have 19-seater air taxis, flies to Batanes province from Tuguegarao City in Cagayan every Tuesday and from Laoag City in Ilocos Norte every Wednesday.
Planes would return from Batanes to Tuguegarao every Thursday and to Laoag City every Friday.
Airline officials bared that for the Basco-Laoag-Basco trips, the airline charges P2,998 for seats number 2 and 3; P3,998 from number 3 to 14, and P4,398 for seats 15 – 19.
For Tuguegarao trips, seats number 1 and 2 cost P3,498 each; seats 3 to 14 are P4,398 and seats 15 to 19 cost P4,498.
Three other airlines, South East Asian Air, Batanes Airline and Chemtrad Aviation, have been operating in the island-province. (PNA)
