MANILA, Aug. 16 — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is still pursuing its probe on the butt implants on singer Selina Sevilla, despite reports that the doctor who allegedly injected her with silicon was already dead.

Lawyer Angelito Magno, chief of NBI Special Action Unit (SAU), said that Sevilla was undergoing series of operation to treat infections allegedly brought about by the implant and restore the appearance of her butt as well.

He said samples of the foreign substance to be taken from Sevilla during the surgery would be turn over to the NBI –Chemistry Division.

“Samples of the foreign substance or maybe the silicon oil to be taken from her butt during operation will be submitted at the NBI Chemistry for examination,” he said.

Magno said the result of the examination will be used to strengthen the case.

He also said that the agency continued with its probe despite report that it was not a certain Dr. R.A. Eugenio, who conducted surgery on Sevilla but by another doctor working under the clinic owned by Eugenio.

The report also said that the doctor (not Eugenio) who conducted surgery on Sevilla has already died.

“That was their defense. We already subpoenaed them (Eugenio) but they have yet to appear here. I watched them (lawyer) on television and they gave their side,” he said.

Sevilla (Sharon S. Simon in real life ), who rose to stardom for her song “Nilunok kong Lahat,” filed a complaint at a certain Dr. R.A. Eugenio at the NBI after her butt enhancement caused severe injury.

Eugenio, according to Sevilla, injected silicon oil on her butt in 1998 in his house-clinic at 2648 Dominga St. Malate, Manila . She then noticed that her butt enhancement was uneven so she decided to consult him again.

Also in 1998, the “doctor” conducted “repair” on her butt.

“It was in 1998. First, he injected silicon oil on my butt and then I noticed that it was uneven and then he repaired it also in 1998 and it was perfect," she said.

But five years ago, I felt pain and then I noticed that my butt started emitting oil and when I was in London , my butt was stiff. In the past months, my butt started to be deformed and the changes were rapid. I consulted a doctor, Lorenzo Loh, who told me that the infection spread in my butt,” Sevilla said.

Sevilla said she paid Eugenio P20,000 in 1998 and many entertainers working in Japan had already hired his services.

The singer said she has to undergo series of operation to treat her and hope that she would stay healthy once the treatment started soon.

Sevilla has recorded two albums in Alpha Records entitled Rated S. and Simply Selena. (PNA)
