MANILA, Aug. 16 — President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has directed the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to support the local government of Basilan in assisting the plight of internally displaced persons (IDPs), especially in the battleground areas between the government forces and the Abu Sayyaf Group recently.
