Corpus named to Veteran Affairs Office

MANILA, Aug. 12 — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has appointed retired Brig. General Victor Corpus Special Presidential Representative to the Office of the Veterans Affairs.

Corpus, a former intelligence chief, is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy, class 1967.

Other new appointees include Emil Sadain, assistant secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways; and Emmanuel de Castro, assistant general manager for Operations of Metro Manila Development Authority.

Appointed chairman and commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education were Emmanuel Angeles and Nona Ricafort, respectively.

The president also appointed Julie Rendoque as commissioner, representing the Employers Sector 4th Division of the National Labor Relations Commission; Myrna Agno, assistant solicitor general; Albert Balingit, member of the Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System;

Also appointed were Edilberto Tayao, regional Director of the Department of Public Works and Highways; Tommy Ala and Larry Nacionales, regional Directors of the Department of Agriculture; and Jose Javier, president and chief operating officer of the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation.
