Manila Archbishop to preside memorial mass for Cory

MANILA, Aug 3 —- Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales will preside over a concelebrated mass at 8 p.m. on Monday in honor of former President Corazon Aquino whose remains arrived at the cathedral at around 4 p.m.

Nearly a hundred priests from the Archdiocese of Manila are expected to concelebrate. Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco will be the homilist.

On Tuesday, Filipino theologian and Imus Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle will preside over another concelebrated mass at 12 noon.

Fr. Rufino Sescon, Jr., Archdiocese of Manila’s Chancellor, in a circular to all priests in the ecclesial province said Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal will preside over concelebrated mass with other archbishops and bishops.

On Wednesday, Balanga Bishop Socrates Villegas will preside over the concelebrated mass with noted Filipino theologian Catalino Arevalo, SJ as homilist.

The wake, except during the funeral Mass on Wednesday, will be open to the public.

It was learned the Archdiocese of Manila was allotted some concelebrant tickets for the funeral mass on Wednesday. Each vicariate will send at least three priests to concelebrate.(PNA)/V3/jmc/
