MANILA, Aug. 2 — Admiral Wilfredo Tamayo, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) commandant, directed the blowing of horns of all Coast Guard vessels in the north and south harbor area in Manila while the remains of the late President Corazon C. Aquino pass Roxas Boulevard in Manila on her way to Manila Cathedral on Monday.

Tamayo said that the men and women of the PCG sympathize with the nation in expressing grief over the death of former President Aquino.

He also directed all Coast Guard districts nationwide to offer mass and prayers in honor of the late president during their flag raising ceremonies on Monday.

Commercial ships in the area will also be encouraged to join the Coast Guard ships nationwide to observe silence tomorrow before deployment for maritime patrol. (PNA)
