President Quezon remembered on his 65th death anniversary

The National Historical Institute (NHI), the Quezon City government and the descendants of the late President Manuel Luis Quezon lead a simple program at the Quezon Memorial in Quezon City Saturday (Aug. 1, 2009) in commemoration of his 65th death anniversary. The program was highlighted by a Holy Mass, floral offering and blessing of the tomb of President Quezon by the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish priest (top photo). Among those who offered flowers were (bottom photo) from left: Nayong Pilipino Foundation Chairwoman Atty. Charito L. Planas, QC Police District director Chief Supt. Elmo San Diego, Enrique “Ricky” Quezon Avancena, a grandson of President Quezon; Quezon City Vice-Mayor Herbert Bautista, NHI Chairman Ludovico D.
