ANGELES CITY, July 31 — Some 2,500 applicants took part in the one-day job fair held at the City Library Building here.

Public Employment Service Office (PESO) manager Adelina Deocales said new graduates, unemployed, displaced workers and employees seeking career advancement applied for 900 job positions being offered for the opening of the Marquee Mall here.

Deocales said 11 companies, which include Kentucky Fried Chicken, Tips and Toes, Kenny Rogers, Metro Gaisano Pampanga, Pancake House, Inc., Retail Specialist Inc., Marks & Spencer, Abenson and 5th Avenue Electronic, Greenwhich and T.G.I. Fridays, participated in the said activity.

These companies are among the would-be tenants of Marque Mall, which is expected to open in September this year.

She said applicants select vacancies suited to their qualifications.

”Qualified applicants are hired on the spot. If they want to be hired, applicants must do or show their best on how to approach the employers,” she said.

Mayor Francis Nepomuceno said the city government is assisting jobseekers as part of its continuing commitment to provide employment opportunities.

Nepomuceno thanked the business sector for supporting the city government’ s initiatives in uplifting the lives of his constituents.(PNA)
