COTABATO CITY, July 16 — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will visit this city tomorrow to meet top police and military officials and address the recent spate of bombings in Mindanao.

The President will fly here from Davao City to preside over the Anti-Terrorism Council meeting at Cotabato City Hall.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales, Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Victor Ibrado, National Police Chief Director General Jesus Versoza Jr., and other government officials are expected to attend the meeting.

On July 5, six people died and around 70 others were injured when an improvised explosives went off near the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cotabato City. Two almost simultaneous explosions followed two days later in Jolo and Iligan City.

Before the meeting and immediately after her arrival here from Davao City, the President will lead the inaugural drive-through of the newly-concreted and widened Awang-Cotabato Airport Access Road project. It will be followed by the ribbon cutting rites at the newly-completed waiting area of the airport.

The 0.7 kilometer Airport Access Road Project links the Awang Airport in Dato Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao to Cotabato City. It was constructed last March 12, and completed June 25 a cost of P20 million.

The savings generated out of the access road project made it possible for the construction of the 360 square meter Airport waiting area building to complement the infrastructure development. (PNA)
