MANILA, July 16 –A former doctor of the Belo Medical Group (BMG) is set to appear Friday at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to shed light on the complaint that a businesswoman was seriously confined to hospital due to the butt augmentation he conducted on her. Dr. Francis Decangchon assured the NBI that he would appear tomorrow at 3 p.m. to give his statement.

Head Agent Ross Bautista, executive officer of the NBI office of the Deputy Director for Intelligence Services (DDIS), said Decangchon was initially expected to appear at the NBI last Wednesday but his lawyer requested for a postponement.

Bautista said the NBI expected the doctor to show proof he was qualified to conduct cosmetic surgery, particularly a butt augmentation operation, in his sworn statement.

The NBI will also grill the doctor about the butt augmentation on businesswoman Josefina Norcio in 2003 and 2005 at BMG.

Norcio claimed she almost died because of the infections caused by butt augmentation on her.

NBI will secure Norcio's medical records from the St. Luke’s Medical Center to establish the reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injuries complaint of Norcio.

Controversial celebrity surgeon Dra. Vicki Belo, the owner of BMG, will also be subpoenaed at the final stages of the investigation.

The victim claimed that she initially consulted Belo before her butt augmentation operation. Norcio claimed that Belo failed to inform her of the possible side effects of the procedure. (PNA)
