MANILA, June 11 — President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has no plan to declare martial law even if the anti-cha-cha rally will spread into many parts of the country.

Presidential Political Adviser Gabriel Claudio said today that the Arroyo administration has already been tested in the last eight years of governance and were able to overcome all sorts of problem.

He said the President did not declare martial law even in the height of EDSA III Hyatt Ten mass resignation, Oakwood Mutiny, and Manila Peninsula siege.

Malacanang made the statement in reply to the advice of former Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz to the public to be vigilant on the possible use of emergency power by the administration to remain in power. (PNA)
