MANILA, June 10 — After increasing the retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), oil companies announced that they will adjust the prices of gasoline and diesel this Thursday.

Roberto Kanapi, vice president for communications of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. (PSPC) said they will increase gasoline prices by P.50 centavos per liter and diesel and kerosene by P1 liter.

The price hike will take effect at 12:01 am of June 11, Kanapi said.

Kanapi said the increase is to “reflect higher production cost.”

Last Tuesday Shell adjusted by P.60 centavos per kilogram its LPG while Petron Corp. similarly implemented the same price hike this morning.

To recall, oil companies increased the prices of gasoline and diesel early this week.

So far, only Shell announced the price hike but other oil firms are expected to follow suit. (PNA)
