Malacanang bares new appointments

MANILA, April 14 — Malacanang announced today the appointment of five new officials, including Cecil Kristin O’Brien who was named assistant secretary in the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS).

Popularly known in media and entertainment sectors as Baby O’Brien and daughter of the late famous movie actress Paraluman, the new OPS assistant secretary hosts a TV program over Channel 4.

Another new appointee is former Undersecretary for Special Concerns of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Rafael E. Seguis as special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

Jose L. Santos, formerly acting commissioner, representing Tagalog language of the Commission on the Filipino Language, was appointed full-time commissioner and concurrent chairman of the CFL with a term expiring on Jan. 6, 2013.

He was previously acting commissioner of the CFL.

Crisanto B. de la Cruz was named presidential assistant for Western Mindanao with the rank of assistant secretary, a post previously held by Ferdinand B. Mahusay.

Also appointed was Lily R. Rosales as acting chairman of the Board of Guidance and Counseling of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC). (PNA)
