M/Y Milvana runs aground off Palawan; PCG rescues 17 crews

MANILA, April 11 –The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) have rescued 17 persons from a yacht which ran aground off Diwaran Island, Coron, Palawan on Maundy Thursday.

A report reaching PCG headquarters showed that personnel of Coast Guard Station Coron and field station Palawan and crew of MB Bunso brought all the 17 persons on board M/Y Milvana safely to the town proper of Coron for medical check up.

M/Y Milvana, owned by a certain Nicanor Padilla of Pasay City, ran aground at about 10 a.m. Maundy Thursday after its propeller suffered damages.

The Coast Guard said the yacht would be refloated and towed back to Palawan after a hole found at the bottom portion of its hull was patched up.(PNA)
